[edit] Bringing order to Chaos
We could do with a bit of disambiguation to refine the Chaos articles here. At the moment we have Chaos which gives a very good explanation of what Chaos is all about in Warhammer but isn't that useful if you're looking for solid WAR info, and we also have Chaos Human, which is about the Chaos army in WAR. Chaos Human is a rubbish title for the article. Hordes of Chaos would be better because it is the name of the army in WFB, but I get the feeling we should avoid any potential references to Horde vs Alliance here. I reckon the best solution would be to rename the current articles as:
- Chaos (General) - an overview of all aspects of Chaos in Warhammer.
- Chaos (Army) - the Chaos army in WAR, including careers, zones, strength indicators etc. (following the layout of Dwarfs and Greenskins).
I'm still not convinced about the suffixes though - I'd like to see if there are any other suggestions out there. The first link would be used in situations like "Chaos Spawn are mutated by the raw energy of Chaos", while the second would be used like "Tchar'zanek is the leader of the Chaos faction".
Chaos is one of the most linked to pages, so it's probably a good idea to clear this up before we get any more info about Chaos characters and zones. --Pendrako 18:10, 12 December 2006 (CST)
- Your points are well taken. Chaos Human is not the best title for the article that refers to the Chaos Army. The problem, of course, is that the Chaos Army article really should be what you get when you type "Chaos" in the search field and hit go. Because regardless of how good our current Chaos article is (and it is excellent, which is why it is still there), the army overview is going to be what people are mostly looking for. And that is also the only way to be internally consistent with the Dwarfs, Empire, Greenskins etc articles.
- As such, I don't think we can get by with the more easy renaming of the Chaos Human article. We have to think up a name for the current Chaos article, move it, and then move the Chaos Human article to where it was. Once that is done, we can add a little disambiguation to the top of both articles to help out those who were looking for the other one.
- I've learned from previous wiki'ing that people hate parenthesis suffixes and now I think I can feel I've started to dislike them myself, so I'm going to argue that we steer clear of those and try something else. My suggestion would be to rename it to Realm of Chaos. Other options include Forces of Chaos or possibly Overview of Chaos.
- Another option would be to savagely butcher the Chaos article, put some of it into the Chaos Human article and the rest into Chaos Gods and Chaos Origins articles. I don't like the idea much, because the current coherency is nice, but it might actually be the best route for future-proofing. --Bishop 08:08, 13 December 2006 (CST)
- I'm inclined to agree with your suggestions. Chaos for the army, and Realm of Chaos fits well enough for the existing Chaos article. No need for any butchery, they should both be fine with a bit of minor re-working and some additional material. I'll get round to sorting this out and updating the existing links in the next few days, if no-one else does it first. --Pendrako 19:43, 13 December 2006 (CST)
[edit] Featured Article Nomination
Anyone else think this is worth being nominated as a featured article? I think it's a pretty damn good article, one of the best on the wiki. ~ Revoran 11:00, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, I seem to remember already nominating it. Either way, I agree. » Bishop · talk « 11:44, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- I've put up the Featured Article Nomination Template, feel free to take it down. Though we should work on finding copyright information for the images featured in this article before we feature it. ~ Revoran 00:57, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] I have a question
I´ve readed that, for example, a Khorne warrior would not fight for a Slaanesh general, for another example, but a Chaos Unaligned chosen (whats the name...? Allchosen...? Everchosen...?) can unite different god worships armies so... why the chaos allignment on WAR are only Tzeench? They should have taken a chaos god for every archetype -for example, a Khorne tank, Nurgle melee DPS, Tzeench ranged DPS and Slaaneshi healer- dont you think? Or Im wrong? I told you, I dont know too much about lore because never read the WH books or played the board games... but I want to learn! Please explain.
