[edit] Copyright issues

A very tricky issue, this. GW/Mythic have always been pretty strict about their (c) enforcement. And I Am Not a Lawyer. However, I believe that with some tweaks to site disclaimers (which I shall implement) we should at least be able to use the Fan Site Kit materials and various non-exclusive screenshots. Obviously, it is of supreme importance that we do not knowingly violate any laws, and copyright is something we need to pay more than just lip service to. --Bishop 17:58, 30 August 2006 (CDT)

I've had a talk with RJD on irc, and the jist of it is that using art assets (like screen shots and concept art) from the official site is okay as long as we use the FSK disclaimer (which we do) and don't abuse the priviledge (obviously). --Bishop 11:19, 25 September 2006 (CDT)
We're using a lot of art from the official site now - is it worth creating a seperate disclaimer for material taken from the warhammeronline.com website, which could include text and images? The fan site kit material probably has less restrictions when it comes to fair usage than the official site material. But again - I'm No Lawyer ;). I guess if RJD says the FSK disclaimer is OK, then we might as well use that for now. And someone should probably go through the files to add any relevant disclaimers which are missing... (nudge, nudge). --Pendrako 07:37, 4 January 2007 (CST)
Uh, since you seem to be coming up with your own answer after the question, I think I'll just add an atta boy. :) On the topic of putting disclaimers on the individual images, I don't imagine it would be a requirement. --Bishop 11:12, 4 January 2007 (CST)
