Welcome to HammerWiki

The latest project from gamewikis.org, HammerWiki is a documentation effort for Warhammer Online that anyone can edit. We started on August 30th 2006, and we definitely need your help! If you wish to contribute, see below -- or just add your information anywhere. Someone will be along shortly to clean up if you happen to misplace something.

Warhammer Online is still in development, and testing is only in early beta stages, meaning that all information gathered so far is subject to change. And much about how the game will work is still completely unknown. However, in the interest of being an accurate and reliable resource of information, please strive to only add information that has been officially confirmed or at the least shown in screenshots or videos from alpha previews.

Fixing up the front page is going to be one of the first things we need to do. Please see below for the very early task list and use the main page discussion page for suggestions on how we could best lay out the face of the wiki.

Important stuff that needs doing.

Rewriting of articles in Category:Cleanup and it's subcategories.
Most of the current army and career articles need reviewing for out of date info.
Most Game Information articles need to be reviewed and updated.
Some zone articles still need cleaning up - we have a good format to follow for these now.

We should make the rest of Wikia more aware of HammerWiki, such as with updates to the new Gaming portal and by getting HammerWiki into linkboxes etc. on other gaming wikis. I've noticed that not even the AoC wiki links to us. » Bishop · talk « 11:51, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

These tasks are mostly or completely finished and may simply require cleanup.

Main Page -- could do with a review. Suggestions welcome on the editcopy.
Content, content, content! We need articles. Articles about everything there currently is to know about WAR. (This should possibly devided a tiny bit into smaller tasks.)
Conversion of transcriptions -- several articles now contain transcriptions of various developer video talks. Work is needed to assimilate all the information and turn them into bona fide articles.
Rewrites of Wikipedia imports and WAR imports to comply with fair use regarding copyright, and to focus on original content.. Finished as of 3-2-08 --Mikeblack 17:39, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Refactoring and splitting of the old army articles such as The Oathbearers into two separate articles, one offering specific game-related information, the other containing background and lore for the race. Our current best example is The Raven Host versus the article on Chaos. --Bishop 06:37, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

Decisions that need taking. Feel free to make separate subpages for discussion of these topics.

Structure -- formatting, sections, categories, etc. Much work to do here.
Copyright -- research and decisions needed, on topics such as "Can we somehow use the fansite kit material, official site material and/or screenshots, etc?" In fact, how can we avoid conflicting with the EA Mythic / GW traditionally very strict attitude to IP/Copyright, no matter what we do?
Relevance -- picking the necessary from the fluff.
