Bandits are lawless humans who prey upon the merchants and traders who travel the remote highways which link the cities of the Old World. In the Empire, bandits are usually armed with an array of pistols and black powder weapons. Large bandit gangs operate from camps deep in the wilderness where they are safe from the attention of Imperial militias.

The hinterlands of the Empire are full of miscreants and other bandits who prey upon their fellow man for no other reason than financial gain. How a locality deals with such a threat varies, but in most cases a large reward is offered for the capture or execution of the bandit and his compatriots.
